Fine Print

You like to read? I like to write.

I'm a freelance writer living in Northampton, MA, with my husband and two daughters. I write all the livelong day—sometimes for money, sometimes for fun. This is the fun part.

Some updates.

(Because I know you were wondering.)

How’s my shampoo-less hair? Glad you asked. I have not shampooed my hair since March. That’s almost six months, folks. It’s curlier than ever, with far less frizz, and I swear to god it doesn’t look or smell dirty. (I do, after all, shower each day, and use lots of conditioner every time.) I get compliments from strangers now. It’s so gratifying! Any compliment of any sort is always a pleasure, of course, but in this case there’s also a tiny eff-the-man smugness accompanying the general glow. It’s all I can do not to tell everyone to stop being so gol-darned clean.

How’s my huge cat? If you can believe it, Smokey is getting even huger. He’s only eight months, after all; he’s got puh-lenty more growing to do. I dare not guess how large he’ll be when he’s fully grown. With his bigger girth comes bigger mishaps. He broke the sink — yes, the sink — in the bathroom by knocking a surprisingly heavy soap dish into the basin, cracking it to the point where we can’t run the water. Anyone got a spare sink?

How’s my sinus infection? Bleaaach. I’m taking all the right medications and a few wrong ones, too. It hangs on. I can smell again, though, which keeps me a couple steps away from the insane place I was a few days ago. I may write a Neti pot post one of these days. Brace yourself.

How’s my blogging? Aside from the sporadic, free-form writing I’m doing here, I’m writing here and here on a fairly regular basis. Feel free to comment — here, there, or anywhere.

Okay, all updated now.
